Darlene Thevenin is an illustrator and draftswoman based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA in Illustration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2018 and MFA in Drawing at the New York Academy of Art in 2023. Her process marries traditional and digital media to visualize personal and emotional narratives. Realism is the space her practice exists in; she draws inspiration from her life experiences, film, animation, and graphic novels and channels the emotional potency from these works into her practice. Her interest in figurative art motivates her to remain steadfast in her pursuit for technical refinement and material experimentation.
